Supported Independent Living
At Ability Ignited we combine our comprehensive disability support with Supported Independent Living (SIL). This means our participants receive 24-hour care in a safe environment which is based on developing their capacity and strengths to be able to accept the changes and challenges of life, with resilience.
We believe is that each person should be given the space, time and education to understand how they can live full and complete lives, on their own terms.
Our SIL Living Space promotes a holistic person-centred approach, with professional and highly experienced support workers. We design individualised routines and plans with autonomy in mind, for each participant.
Start Up Mechanical Club
Start Up Mechanical Club is an innovative skills-based program designed to build a cohesive team among participants. Start Up appeals to those who have a keen interest in motors, cars, equipment and learning how to build, service and fix these items.
Participants develop their skills, and relationships with their peers, including understanding how to follow safety and workplace instructions. Working on personal passion projects, Start Up gives participants the time and space to learn something new.
Ability Ignited will facilitate Start Up for participants aged 12-17 during school holidays, and for those aged 18 and over during the school term. The program suits participants of all backgrounds, who have an interest in motorised equipment and developing team skills.
