Yes, absolutely! We are currently in the process of building both spaces and can provide clients with our vision and plans for each space. We expect that both spaces to be operational by early 2026.
Our fees align with the current NDIS price guidelines in Victoria. Our Supported Independent Living fees are adapted according to individual service agreements and client goals and will be discussed with clients’ support coordinator.
Our Start Up program operates as a 1:1 ratio, ensuring each client is well supported, and are delivered over a year, during school terms.
The Supported Independent Living Program is adapted according to the individual needs of the client, and their individual service agreement. We develop personalised programs in consultation with clients, family and carers and support coordinators.
Our support workers have extensive experience in the disability sector and are dedicated to ensuring that client needs are met, and their choices are heard.
If there are specific strategies clients use for communication, please contact us to discuss and we will plan and prepare accordingly.
We have a thorough complaints process outlined in our NDIA policies and procedures; these will be outlined at the beginning of your service agreement term with Ability Ignited. Client safety, choice and control is our number one priority. All feedback is valued, and all clients will be given regular opportunities to provide feedback, including processes they feel we can improve.
A client’s time in either Start Up or Supported Independent Living will be determined based on their individual goals and progress. Ability Ignited will work with client care teams to ensure that time allocated for each client within our services is appropriate and ethical.
Yes, absolutely. Ability Ignited clients will be able to access their appropriate care from their NDIA approved allied health and other professionals in our space once our internal site induction and approval process is complete.
While participating in the Start Up program, all minors (under 18-year-old) are not permitted to leave the program or premises during their allocated time slot.
Adults participating in Start Up will be permitted to leave the premises, with prior approval, and if deemed appropriate. Client safety is our number one priority and Ability Ignited has duty of care to all clients in our program.
Clients under 18 years of age participating in our Supported Independent Living program may leave the premises with a support worker if necessary, or without a support worker if deemed safe and reasonable. Clients over 18 may leave the premises under prior agreement and if deemed appropriate by the client, their care team and management. These circumstances will be discussed at length and agreed upon with the client and the client’s care team at the beginning of the service agreement.
Visitors are not permitted to the Start Up program without prior approval by management.
Visitors are permitted in the Supported Independent Living space with prior approval by management, at approved times. Visitors must have the appropriate clearance, in line with service agreements and NDIS policies and procedures. Staff will be present at all times when visitors are onsite.
Start Up will have workshop rules and expectations in line with OH&S requirements. Participants will be required to complete a safety component at the beginning of each program including safe tool use and expectations.
Supported Independent Living will have in-house responsibility and expectations to ensure respect is always provided to each participant and staff member.
Participant autonomy and inclusion will be promoted and encouraged.
Ability Ignited promotes independence and autonomy in line with policy safety standards. We encourage clients to express their preferences in all aspects of daily life.
Service agreements are designed to incorporate all current routines and assist with seamless transition to Supported Independent Living.
As part of the holistic approach of the program, we implement monthly weekend community outings that incorporate experiences, exposing clients to various arts, cultures and events.
Ability Ignited management works closely with health professionals, carers/families and support coordinators to ensure client health and safety is paramount.
Specific expectations and responsibilities will be outlined in individual service agreements.
Participants will be linked with like-minded peers who require similar supports to ensure the space is comfortable, engaging and a place they can call home.
Start Up has three program levels to support clients’ skill development journey. We will work with clients to determine their skill level when onboarding them to the program and place them in a suitable group.
Beginner: Basic tool safety and correct tool use, individualised projects utilising timbers
Intermediate: Group and passion projects focusing on basic small motor operations, how engines work, components, servicing equipment, workplace safety.
Advanced: Motor vehicle restorations, servicing, car/motorbike motor internal operations, basic paint and panel, workshop safety, improving employment ability skillset, achievement certificate on completion of program.
